DR. HILLA LIMANN TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY HOLDS 3RD MATRICULATION CEREMONY
The 3rd Matriculation Ceremony of the University took place on Saturday, March 4, 2023. The University introduced four (4) Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) Programmes in the 2022/2023 academic year.
The Vice – Chancellor, Prof. Elias Nortaa Kunedeb Sowley, in an address, congratulated the fresh men and women for gaining admissions to study at DHLTU. He said that their decision to choose DHLTU is a clear manifestation of the confidence reposed on the University for its academic excellence.
Prof. Sowley disclosed that in line with the vision of the University to become a world- class centre for applied science and technology and applied arts to provide career-focused education for rural poverty reduction and national development, the Programmes offered are competitive and career driven.
The Vice Chancellor intimated that the University had put in place measures to make the admissions systems as stress-free as possible for students. “We are the only Technical University in the Country that had uploaded our application forms on our website for prospective applicants to apply for free”. He added that the University had also made it possible for students who completed their WASSCE in September, 2022 to continue their education at the tertiary level without having to wait for a whole academic year.
Prof. Sowley encouraged the students to participate in sporting activities and that it is scientifically proven that physical exercise helps the mental and emotional development of the body. He went further to say that the University participated in the Ghana Technical Universities Sports Association (GHATUSA) games last year and won two silver medals and two bronze medals.
He advised the students to resist the temptation of indulging in examinations malpractice. He added that the University does not tolerate any form of examinations malpractice and that examinations malpractice attracts the highest penalty of expulsion from the University.
Prof. Sowley urged the students to read the students handbook and that they should shun all forms of negative behaviour that may lead to their expulsion from the University.
The ceremony was attended by officials of the University, including the Pro- Vice Chancellor, the Registrar, Deans, Directors, Heads of Department as well as other members of convocation
