Honorable Regional Minister, Council Chairman, Representatives of Regulatory bodies, Vice Chancellor of DHLTU and Vice Chancellors of Sister Institutions here present, Distinguished guest, members of the University Community, fellow graduates, ladies and gentlemen.
Before I start I would humbly request a minute silence in remembrance of our late year mate Christiana whose sudden death occured in the early days of our final year. May her soul continue to rest in peace.
It is with great humility and gratitude that I stand before you today as the valedictorian of the 2023 graduating class of Dr. Hilla Limann Technical University. This honor is not only a reflection of my individual efforts but also a testament to the unwavering support and encouragement of my Lecturers, mentors, friends, parents and family members who have stood by me every step of the way. Not forgetting my study mates Miss Mercy Asabea Asante Tingan , Mr. Virtus Manduaya Mankutam and Mr. Francis Aguzey. Madam and Sir’s am grateful
As I reflect on my time at Dr. Hilla Limann Technical University, I am filled with a profound sense of pride and accomplishment. Over the past few years, we have embarked on a transformative journey of growth, learning, and discovery. A journey that has challenged us, shaped us, and prepared us for the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. My colleague Graduands here would all agree with me on how adventurous this academic journey has been for us.
Today, as we stand on the threshold of a new chapter in our lives, I am reminded of the words of George Washington Carver, who once said, “Education is the key to unlock the golden door of freedom.” Indeed, our education at this esteemed institution has equipped us with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to pursue our dreams, overcome obstacles, and make a positive impact in our communities and beyond.
As we celebrate our individual achievements today, let us also take a moment to express our gratitude to those who have supported us along the way. To our Lecturers and mentors, thank you for your guidance, wisdom, and dedication to our academic success. To our friends and classmates, thank you for your comradeship, encouragement, and shared experiences. And to our families and loved ones, thank you for your unwavering love, support, and sacrifices that have made this moment possible.
As we embark on the next chapter of our journey, let us carry with us the lessons we have learned, the friendships we have forged, and the values instilled in us by our alma mater. Let us embrace the challenges that lie ahead with courage, resilience, and determination, knowing that we are well-equipped to succeed in whatever path we choose to pursue.
Conclusions
In conclusion, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to my fellow graduates. Today, we stand on the edge of a bright and promising future, filled with endless possibilities and opportunities. I have no doubt that seated here are ambitious business men and women and many great leaders that have conquered some odds and are on the way to make a difference in this country and beyond. But like Salvador Dali once said, “Intelligence without ambition is like a bird without wings” and as Frank Tyger said, “ambition is an enthusiasm with a purpose”. To my fellow Graduates, let us along these lines realize that success is not an event but a habit – a habit of having the end in mind; and a habit of not quitting.
This is a testament that God is Good.
