Holds 2021/2022 Matriculation Ceremony for Fresh Men and Women

The 2nd matriculation ceremony of the University took place on Saturday, February 12, 2022 to officially welcome fresh men and women to the University.

In all 426 students have enrolled for the 2021/2022 academic year to pursue various academic Programmes at the University.

The Vice – Chancellor, Prof. Elias Nortaa Kunedeb Sowley, in an address, congratulated the fresh men and women for gaining admissions to study at DHLTU. He added that their decision to choose the DHLTU stems from the fact that they believed in the quality of teaching and learning at the University.

Prof. Sowley disclosed that the University had received administrative approval from the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), to run Bachelor of Technology Programmes and that the institution was waiting for clearance from the National Accreditation Board (NAB) to start Bachelor of Technology Programmes. He added that the BTech Programmes would be introduced in the not too distant future.

 

He informed the freshers that the University was exploring ways of getting residential accommodation for students. Prof. Sowley used the opportunity to invite entrepreneurs and interested parties to assist Management to resolve the perennial accommodation problem facing students of the University.

Prof. Sowley encouraged the students to read regulations guiding their stay in the University. He advised the students to resist the temptation of indulging in examinations malpractice. He added that the University does not tolerate any form of examinations malpractice and that examinations malpractice attracts the highest penalty of expulsion from the University.

The Vice-Chancellor reminded the students about the need to strictly observe the COVID-19 protocols.

The ceremony was attended by officials of University including the Pro Vice – Chancellor, the Registrar, Deans, Directors, Heads of Department as well as other members of convocation.
