Overview

The Hotel, Catering and Institutional Management (HCIM) department is one of the newly established departments of Dr. Hilla Limann Technical University (DHLTU), Wa. Despite being the youngest department, it enjoys a unique advantage of serving all residence of the Upper West Region and beyond, as it is the first to run a hospitality programme in the region. It currently has four well qualified and experienced lecturers with strong research background and contemporary teaching skills and one experienced technician. The department also has modern equipment for the training of its students. It is well positioned to provide learners with world-class experience and the requisite foundations which can be applied in addressing vast array of challenges within the hospitality sector. The department currently runs a B-Tech Hotel Catering and Institutional Management Programme and industry-driven short courses.

To train outstanding and community-focused hospitality professionals with dynamic entrepreneurial, management and leadership skills with relevant industry experience required to make a positive impact on the local environment, community and national economy. Employ innovative technology, equipment and facilities which will afford students and staff the opportunity to excel in learning and in working to support the overall mission of the university.
