Overview

Ghana’s push for an industrial based economy, coupled with a mushrooming science and technology sector makes a case for a new breed of mid-level science professional – well educated, with the skill-set to fill the required human resource capacity needs of the nation. The Higher National Diploma (HND) in Science Laboratory Technology is intended to equip the trainees with the knowledge and operational skills necessary to work in analytical, industrial, medical, environmental, food, and regulatory laboratories. The Science Laboratory Technology Department is committed to offering students with an academic experience of "thinking, learning, and doing."

Mission

To achieve the above-stated vision statement, the department aims to;
i. Employ committed, highly-qualified personnel to assist in the training of our students;
ii. Train and equip students with the requisite technical and managerial know-how to offer solution- oriented competent laboratory services at the workplace;
iii. Employ innovative and “real-world focused” teaching strategies in the training of our students;
iv. Provide our students with high-quality and up-to-date curricula;
v. Foster an effective teaching and learning environment for academic success;
vi. Ensure the availability of world-class research facilities to support technology-based teaching and research;
vii. Improve the environment for continuous learning and sustenance of our staff.
