Mission
To educate and produce qualified HND, B-TECH and other higher programmes graduates for leadership roles in various fields of engineering and to conduct research for the benefit of society.
Overview
The Mechanical Engineering Department has been in existence since 2008 when it was accredited to run a three-year Higher National Diploma (HND) programme. Since then, the Department has in various ways tried to work according to the mandate of the University. The Department is to produce mechanical engineers to support the demanding nature of middle level manpower of the country to improve, produce and manufacture various equipment needed to serve industries and the labour market. The Department is to support the workload of engineers in the Upper West Region and beyond. The design, analysis and inventions by Mechanical Engineers in the country would in turn enhance the vision of the Government of Ghana.
