DIRECTORATE OF WORKS AND PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT
The Works and Physical Development Directorate is responsible for the planning, design, development and maintenance of the physical infrastructure and environment of the University as well as the provision of essential services. The Directorate is made up of the Physical Planning and Development Unit and the Estate Management Unit.
The core activities of the Directorate include:
o Planning, designing and development of University infrastructure facilities and related services.
o Implementation of the Master Plan of the University
o Supervision of works and construction contracts to ensure compliance with relevant industry codes and standards; specifications and national laws and regulations.
o Coordination of the services of Consultants on Capital Projects
o University facilities management
o Maintenance of buildings and provision of essential services.
o Environment and sanitation management.
To contribute positively towards positioning Dr. Hilla Limann Technical University as a World-Class Centre for Applied Technology and Career-Focused Education through the provision of outstanding planning, design and construction services required to develop and maintain a safe, sustainable and high quality learning and working environment.
The Directorate exists to see to the overall development and maintenance of the physical environment of the University and the provision of essential services in an effective and efficient manner.
