In a strong demonstration of her commitment to inclusive leadership and student-centered governance, the Vice Chancellor of Dr. Hilla Limann Technical University, Ing. Prof. Hamidatu Saaka Darimani, engaged directly with the student body in a well-attended open forum held on campus.

The interactive session, which drew participation from students across all faculties and departments, was aimed at deepening communication, promoting transparency, and addressing concerns relevant to student life and academic development. The Vice Chancellor was accompanied by key members of management including the Registrar, Mr. Vitus Songotuah; Dean of Students, Mr. Robert Ahiabor; and the Head of the Vice Chancellor’s Secretariat, Mr. Isaac Paruzie.

In her opening remarks, Prof. Darimani expressed her appreciation for the resilience, discipline, and active participation of students in the life of the university. She reiterated the administration’s commitment to fostering an environment that supports academic excellence, innovation, and student welfare.

The session offered students the opportunity to raise a range of issues, including but not limited to the following:

  • Inadequate student hostel facilities
  • Insufficient furniture in lecture halls
  • Delays in the graduation process
  • Need for updated library resources
  • Safety and security concerns on and around campus
  • Absence of a dedicated bank or fee collection point on campus

In response, the Vice Chancellor and Registrar addressed each concern with clarity and transparency. They noted that several of the issues were already under active consideration, while others would be escalated to the relevant departments for prompt resolution. The leadership also emphasized the importance of shared responsibility and encouraged students to actively contribute to maintaining a clean, safe, and respectful campus environment.

Students commended the Vice Chancellor for her openness, accessibility, and forward-thinking leadership. They pledged their full support to the administration and committed to collaborative efforts to ensure the continuous development and smooth running of the university.

Closing the session, Prof. Darimani reaffirmed her administration’s vision of a student-centered institution rooted in the values of service, innovation, and integrity.
